On Thursday, March 18, 2010, Allan Frederick
Whitmore passed away peacefully at Kamloops at the age of 62
years.
He survived by his loving mother June Helwig and step-mother
Shirley Whitmore; his three brothers Fred Jr. (Vicki), Ed (Lena)
and Ted (Diane) and sister Gloria (Ray), as well as many nieces
and nephews.
Allan was predeceased by his father Fred Whitmore Sr.
Allan was a big man, with a big heart. When the cards were
dealt, Allan played them, and he played them hard.
In his early 20's Allan worked for the Forest Service and in
1976 started in the taxi cab business with his father. Allan was
a proud member of the "Taxi Cab Family" for many years
in Kamloops until his retirement. Allan's mother, June Helwig
was moved to Overlander Extended Care Home in Kamloops a few
years ago and Allan made every effort to make sure her needs
were looked after. He would visit with his mother on a daily
basis when he was feeling up to it and thoroughly enjoyed being
by her side.
Allan loved music, and enjoyed playing his guitar for the many
parties that were held with his family and friends.
Allan was a "True Bachelor" and lived life to it
fullest. He was a calm, affectionate man and loved to spend time
"having a good time".
Good-bye, big fella, we will miss you...
Should friends desire, donations to the S.P.C.A. 1211 8th
Street, Kamloops, B.C. V2B 2Y3 in memory of Allan would be
appreciated
