Montréal, August 15th 2006 - Critically acclaimed master blues guitarist Steve Rowe has just released his fourth CD called “Live à Montréal”. Recorded at the 2005 editions of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and FestiBlues de Montréal, “Live à Montréal” highlights Rowe’s original compositions. Both Le Voir and The Montréal Gazette dub him as Quebec’s own “Guitar Hero”. 

Rowe’s masterful skills as a blues guitarist on this recording have already garnered a great deal of critical praise. The Toronto Blues Society recently said: “Rowe sounds great, with a big fat tone, soloing fluidly throughout. A guitar lover's delight!”

“Live à Montréal” will be officially launched at the Monkland Village Street Festival on Thursday, September 7th at 5:00 pm. Proceeds from the street festival will benefit the Shriner’s Hospital. Rowe will be headlining the festival every night from September 8th to 10th. Showtime’s will be listed at www.steverowe.com.

Rowe is currently nominated for four 2006 Quebec Lys Blues Gala awards, including Best Album (for last year’s “Front Rowe Center”), Best Composer, Best Performer, and Best Performance. Voting begins August 15 to September 15 at www.lenetblues.com. “Front Rowe Center” debuted in the summer of 2005 and has been listed repeatedly in the Top Ten for both Quebec’s Le Net Blues and Toronto’s Maple Blues magazines.

Recent highlights for Rowe include opening for Colin James at the Spectrum in Montréal (February, 2006) and for Byron Lee at the Granada Theatre in Sherbrooke, Quebec (November, 2005). He also performed at the 2005 Ottawa Blues Fest, which was recorded and broadcast by Rogers Television.
