Slim & The Deuces
"Live At The Blues Underground"

Reviews & Info

Slim & the Deuces debut release "Live At The Blues Underground" is the perfect companion to those blues fans that not only like good old fashion home grown blues but also those that like the feeling that a great live album brings to the listening enjoyment mix.

From the moment I started listeneing to "Live At The Blues Underground", it immediately took me back to the times when our own Blues Underground was featuring great Blues Bands and the amazing feeling of seeing all those bands live in a great small venue and how Slim & the Deuces and their style of the Blues would have fit in perfectly.

Slim & the Deuces is a power blues trio with Greg Kennedy on Bass, John Hunter on Drums, and Dave "Slim" Harris on Guitar and Drums. All members of this trio do the vocals as well.

When is comes to Blues, "Live At The Blues Underground" has it all, with 13 tracks that feature not only excellent vocals, but also really good harmonica, guitar, bass, and drum work. It is not hard to tell that these guys are all very seasoned pro's, and in the case of Dave Harris, also a seasoned songwriter whom pens 6 of the 13 tracks.

"Live At The Blues Underground" is sure to please lovers of all kinds of blues especially those that like their blues live.

About Slim & the Deuces

Slim & the Deuces have been part of the Canadian blues scene since the early 70's. Collectively, they had the good fortune to backup many of the greats (John Lee Hooker, Pinetop Perkins, Sunnyland Slim, Albert Collins, Luther Tucker, Homesick James, James Cotton, Freddie Roulette, Bill Johnson, Harpdog Brown). Slim is also a legendary Victoria busker who plays a multitude of instruments in his own one man show. The band recently released it's first CD "Live at the Blues Underground" which they are proud of. All the tracks listed here are from it. The band resides in Victoria and love the Island life. Thanks for your interest and support.
