Plainfield Slim "Another Mule In The Barn"
|
...Straight Ahead Take No Prisoners Back Yard Barn Burning Rockin' Blues is what Plainfield Slim is all about and that is certainly what you get on his new Debut Album "Another Mule In The Barn". Plainfield Slim is the alter ego of Gar Francis, guitarist, songwriter for the Doughboys and in addition to Plainfield Slim his other solo project is The Groundhawgs. To say that Gar Francis is simply an immense talent may be an understatement as he not only wrote all the songs on "Another Mule In The Barn", he also plays all the instruments on this sizzling Debut. With a megaphone style vocal delivery and a slide guitar that slices through the Blues like a hot knife through butter, Plainfield Slim has no problem getting our attention, and holding on to it. "Another Mule In The Barn" consists of 11 Tracks, 10 of them of which are, "Get Off Your Butt And Get A Dancing Tunes" with one slow one in the middle so you can take a short rest, which is all you are going to get listening to this CD. With "Another Mule In The Barn", Plainfield Slim has thrown some damn good fun into listening to the Blues and in doing so he has made one damn good Album... Does it deserve my highest 5***** Rating, you betcha... Highly Recommended and Thoroughly Enjoyable... Can Not Wait For More... This is Kick-Ass Blues At It's Best... John Vermilyea (Blues Underground Network) Other Info and Reviews Album Notes Somewhere in between Hound Dog Taylor and Elmore James lies Plainfield Slim's first album "Another Mule In The Barn". A very very raw and nasty blues album that rocks from beginning to end. Produced by Gar Francis (from The Doughboys "Black Sheep" fame) the CD has received much airplay overseas and was named one of the best blues albums of 2007 by Brisbane, Austraila's 101.0fm radio. "Shake My Eggs" & "Marlene" seem to be the stand out songs on the airwaves.

Plainfield Slim & The Groundhawgs have recently released their second CD *When The Devil Hits Home* after much global success from *Another Mule In The Barn* the first Plainfield Slim album. Songs such as Dirty Girl, Moan, Hideout, Marlene, and Sweet Jesus have been receiving airplay around the world as well as here in the US. Both CD*s are available on CD Baby and as downloads on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, etc. Plainfield Slim & The Groundhawgs bring a kind of excitement to the stage that is like no other blues band in the area. The songs are simple and right to the point and can make a grown man cry. Plainfield Slim and the
