A Pictorial History

2003 continued to see fantastic growth and amazing acts for the BUN. Here is a entry from the BUN Guestbook dated February 17, 2003 to give you an indication how fast we were growing. This entry was from Tony Robertson, whom was then calling himself the Exalted President T-Plum Loco.

Hey members. Let's get some banter going in this Guestbook. Try some Smilies Give some gab. Chuck some trash at someone (nicely, of course). Offer suggestions to the BUN Exec. I suggest that we forget about a suggestion box at the gigs, we have a better one right here. John has again updated the website. Incredible. Hats of to you, dude. Thanks for covering my a** constantly.

Hey kids, we have well over 210 members now. Talk to us soon. EPT-Plum |February 17th 2003|

All the Shows especially, at the Elks, were simply amazing except for one, and that was in my opinion Pied Pumkin which featured Shari Ulrich, Rick Scott, and Joe Mock. The music was very good and tight, but it seemed that it would have been more suited to a much younger crowd. It also ended surprisingly sooner than expected, which annoyed a fair number of the members.

Still in the early part of 2003, the Elks Lodge #44 got into a little trouble with the Liquor Board for us having shows but not being Elks Members and therefore not signing people in as was required by their liquor license. The BUN quickly stepped up to the bat and in no time at all nearly 70 of our Members joined the Elks, so the shows could continue and the Elks could still receive all the benefits of running the Bar, which was quite substantial for most of our shows. This also helped the Elks bring down the average age of their Members from over 70 to in the 40's. This particular Elks became for a short time, one of the fasted growing in Canada and our Support for the Elks was commended by their Exalted Ruler when he visited the Lodge later that year. We honored him by making him our first Honorary Lifetime BUN Member.

The following are some Photo's from highlight Shows at the BUN at the Elks.

Long John Baldry was a sit down acoustical show, also featuring Tony Robertson and Brickhouse singer Rob Bracken. Tony was a very good friend of Long John Baldry and had toured with him in the past.

Brickhouse was by far our most popular Shows. There is a story that goes with the shirts they chose to wear for their first set. While out at Hazy's playing Bocce with the Band, one of the Members came back from town with a bunch of Shoppers Drug Mart Shirts and decided then that they would wear them for their first set.

At their second show, one of our Members, whom was actually Crazy Stu at our Kamloops Blazer Games in the early years, bought and presented Rob with a specially made Blazers Jersey.
