John 'Scooch' Cugno "The Road Leads
Home"
John was recently nominated for a BB
Award from the Washington Blues Society in Seattle for "Best Traditional
Blues Act 2011".
John is a native New Englander born
in Boston and lived much of his life in New Hampshire,Maine and Vermont.
In 1993 John, his wife Kelly, and their four beautiful daughters moved to
Twin Falls, Idaho where he lived for 12 years. John and his family have relocated to the
Olympia Washington area. He now lives in the the shadow of
beautiful Mount Ranier.
An accomplished drummer,guitarist and
singer songwriter,John played for years in Boston,Chicago, New Orleans,
Denver, and Nashville clubs. He has performed with John Lee Hooker,
Howlin' Wolf, Jumpin John Sansone, EC Scott, Cookie McGee, Phil Guy, Henry
Cooper, Rockin' Jake, Jimmy Lloyd Rea , Howlin Wolf
Jr, John Nemeth, Joe Kelley, and many other well known blues
and country artists.
John's powerful vocals are a feature of
his bands, Delta 88 Revival, The Blues Survivors, and
John Cugno and the Aces. He performs as a solo,duo, trio
or full band. John is an endorsed artist by Regal Tip Drumsticks.
He taught guitar and drums privately in the Twin Falls area for ten
years. John is still accepting students in the Olympia area.
In the 80's, John lived in Nashville
and toured with Gene Breeden and the Nashville Music Machine. He also
worked as a studio drummer for Gene Breeden and recorded an album with
Charlie Daniels members and Joel Jacobs. He toured with Stella Parton,
Tommy Overstreet, Nat Stuckey, Marty Haggard, Michael Twitty, and many
