Eran Troy Danner "Lucky Day"

Eran Troy Danner probably couldn't have come up with a more appropiate title for his newest CD and really why should he have. He is already a rising star, getting raves reviews for his music and musicianship and if anything he probably could of called his newest Album, Lucky Days, instead of Lucky Day.

Lucky Day consists of 10 tracks, 7 0f which are Originals and 3 fabulous choices for Covers. "Ain't No Sunshine" (Bill Withers), "Like A Rolling Stone" (Bob Dylan), and "Voodoo Chile" (Jimi Hendrix). It also clocks in at a respectful 38+ minutes, which is pretty good for 10 songs. Eran is supported, on this Album by Billy Bileca (Bass), Nick Longo (Drums), and Larry "Buzzy" Fallstrom (Keyboards). It is the synergy and creativity of this fine group of musicians that one won them the 15th Annual CTBS Challenge and therefore a spot in the upcoming 2011 International Blues Challenge, in Memphis and it is this same synergy and creativity that shines through on "Lucky Day".

Eran Troy Danner's delivery is simple yet suprisingly effective, thanks in large part to his extraordianry vocals, his magnificent grasp of not only the blues and beyond, but also how to have them come together with his expertise and mastery of guitar, which is simply the icing on the cake for this Album, especially on the Cover Tracks. There is certainly a feeling of honesty and unpretentionous that comes through loud and clear on "Lucky Day".

"Lucky Day" is a very good well rounded Album with exceptional original music and great interpretations of several Covers. It is one that shows us that the moniker of rising star is not left on deft ears, as he is certainly an artist whom's future is sure to get brighter and brighter as he continues to ever expand the map which shows his immense popularity.

From his opening track, "Allison Pond", to the last fleeting notes of the last track, "Voodoo Chile", "Lucky Day", certainly lives up to it's name, not only for Eran Troy Danner, but also for all the rest of us who have had the good fortune of listening to his music.

"Lucky Day" is an Album I have no problem recommending for all fans of simply good music, done simply.
