Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings "Blues Party"
|
I usually don't get overly excited when I receive a CD for review, unless of course that CD is from the "Good Times Bluesman" himself, Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings. My first introduction to Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings was via his sophomore release, "Blues Evolution", and that album hooked me right off the bat, with me instantly becoming a huge fan of his. Now with his new release, "Blues Party", Charles keeps the party going and the good times a rolling, as he announces in his opening intro, "I'm "Big Daddy" Stallings and I approve these Blues". Those quick intro's, which have become a part of Charles trademark, starting with his last album, really set the tone for the good times you are about to receive when listening to his tunes. Listening to "Blues Party" is the first time I noticed who Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings reminds me of, and that is, Watermelon Slim, another one of my very favorite Blues Artists. With "Blues Party", Charles doesn't miss a beat and continues where he left off on his last album, and that is giving you the very best in Blues, Soul, Funk, and Boogie, in the patented Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings Party Style, that hits you from the top of your head to the tip of your toes and their just ain't no point fighting it, because your head is going to start bobbin' and your feet are going to start tappin', guaranteed. Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings, especially with this new release is continuing to leap ahead of any competition he may of had and is really making a solid name for himself amongst the very best blues artists out there today. I give this CD a solid 5***** Rating... One of my favorites this year, by a long shot... Please do yourself a favor and grab a copy of "Blues Party" for your collection. Disappointed you will not be. Good time Blues with a twist ! this album is designed to not let you get bored ! Dance music of all kinds even a Latin Tune , Soul , Funk . and yes plenty of Blues !!!!! there is no cursing or bad language , some songs have an adult theme to them but an adult should be the one to understand the lyrics. About Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings Charles “Big Daddy” Stallings really knows the essence of the Blues. Born in Columbia, S.C. and raised on a farm in Hobbsville, N.C. with ten brothers and sisters he lived the Blues everyday. Music became his escape and the first song he learned to play was “Big Boss Man” by Jimmy Reed. After migrating to Baltimore, MD. “Big Daddy” continued to develop as a musician performing in local R&B and Jazz bands all the while dreaming of recording his own Blues project.
