3AM "Self Titled"

Playing a fine blend of Rhythm & Blues with the super dynamic vocals of lead singer Tola Lamont is what 3AM and their Debut Self Titled Release is all about.

With a voice reminiscent of a toned down Janis Joplin, without all the hooping and hollering in between the vocals, Tola Lamont and the rest of this 5 member band take us on a fine Rhythm & Blues journey.

The Album was recorded throughout the UK at various locations and consists of 8 Tracks, 5 which are excellently written Originals and 3 superbly recreated Covers. Run Time for this Album is a modest 34+ minutes, but the songs are done in such a great fashion that it does seem a bit longer. The quality of the Album is well mastered, but I do get a bit of a hollow sound which makes me think it was not done in a recording studio. That of course is not a bad thing and actually gives the Album a bit of a live feel, which I like.

The 8 Songs on this Album are all very well performed and show us all that 3AM is a superbly tight band with a lot of musical expertise in their back ground. The Album, in general takes you back to the great feel of the 60's and 70's when bands like Jefferson Airplane and Blondie ruled.

3AM draws their inspiration from a wide range of Artists, such as, Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin, Black Sabbath, Blondie, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Guns n’ Roses, Heart, Janis Joplin, Peggy Lee, Pink, Rolling Stones, and The Eagles, just to name a few. Formed in 2002 they have played extensively throughout the UK, in both small and large venues and festivals and continue to make a name for themselves as their popularity and fan base continue to grow.

All in all 3AM is a very fine Debut Release and a good start to hopefully many more releases.
